I work in pure pencil, from F to 9B grades. My passion for old romantic black-and-white movies, coupled with my love of music, has been my source of inspiration. My chosen area of illustration is that of celebrity portraiture, showing stars of popular culture who I love, in a style such as which they have never before been shown, but which I feel suits them; a style reminiscent of the Golden Age of Hollywood monochrome glamour of the nineteen-thirties.

Each portrait takes me roughly six months, building layer-by-layer working across the pencil range. I do have a back catalogue of work that will be gradually made available to buy in the form of carefully reproduced prints.
